I just have to vent because I have never run into this before...My 7 year old daughter has mild CP (if you looked at her you wouldnt even know) but she has to wear a patch on one eye for 4 hours a day. So today, I put the patch on in the morning and out we went to play at a local playground, which we frequent quite often, and there was a grandfather there with his grandon. The little boy started staring, but I expect that because children dont know better, but what happened next totally pissed me off...The grandfather grabbed the boy and took off! The little one started crying and asking why they had to leave because they had just gotten there and the grandfather screamed back at him that he wouldnt let any grandchild of his play with a freak! REALLY?!?! I am just so upset!!! Everyone has their differences and although Bella has mild CP it isnt obvious, except that shes much smaller and slower than the average 7 year old, and of course the patch...I have seen many children wearing patches for various reasons and never gave it a second thought! Am I over reacting? Because really if I ever see this guy again I may not be able to control myself!! UGH...sorry...rant over...
