I just heard back from Paul who launched that drone and he had this to say..... Hi Rex I am the guy that stuck that drone up and just wanted to share my perspective. I agree 100% that is was not a cleaver thing to do, as soon as I realised that I was creating a disturbance I put it away but it was too late that damage was done. We got into big trouble with parks and I after some time with them we managed to resolve the issue but the end of the day we were used bad judgement and they had good reason to express concerns. I have been using it a bit and have learnt what impact they make and I think my final perspective is that they are not a good idea for wildlife photography. Our disturbance was actually very minimal but a disturbance none the less. I gave the guys at Parks my word and a written letter that I would publish my findings on a blog so that others interested in doing this sort of thing would see that it is actually not a good idea. If you could express my perspective on this string I would really appreciate it and will again let you guys know when I publish my blog on the subject so hopefully I can turn this negative experience into something that can create awareness.
