I just read this and the commenter called Zen flames is spot on. he said Here is the difference . . sociopaths are manipulative, empathic people tend to be more trusting, more innocent. Yes, we all have issues, that doesnt mean its ok for someone to use your issues to manipulate you. To lie, betray and persecute. I am very empathic and I am not a people pleaser. Be careful with your generalizations. Their basic strategy is to meet their own needs, via whatever means necessary. They are takers. Anything they promise to give, which will be little, will only be given if it provides them with what they need in the same act. Empaths love very deeply, sociopaths dont love, they are afraid of intimacy. They will keep you on a starvation diet of love and affection, just enough to keep you, but not enough for you to feel secure, ever. They are bullys who move from one target to the next, disposing of people like garbage once they have taken as much as they could. Empaths are givers who need to learn how to discern truth from bs.
