I just read what was written and shared with this song and I think the words and music will minister to many of you. We have to accept and surrender our painful circumstances to the Lord. Though at times it feels like we will be overcome with our pain, if we seek God as our refuge and shelter, He will sustain and hold us. When one’s life suddenly changes in a tragic way, there is often an ongoing inner battle and struggle with God and life’s meaning. Today’s song, Let the Waters Rise by Mikeschair definitely reflected the position of my soul when I finally chose to “surrender” all the pain and sorrow and trust that God would hold me up no matter how deep the water seemed to climb. When my world was caving in, I chose to use this song to declare in my heart that I trusted God regardless of the raging sea that I felt was trying to pull me in and under. I believe relief comes into our souls when we surrender everything to God and allow Him to hold us up in the deep—regardless of what our eyes and heart see or feel. I can testify that regardless of what you’re facing--when you surrender it to Him-- you will see that HE DOES hold us up! HE is forever faithful.
