I just realized that 15 years ago this month, I completed 5 weeks of specialized beam radiation treatments, 6 months of old school heavy metal chemotherapy treatments, a transabdominal feeding tube, and a port-a-cath in my chest. When diagnosed, I asked God to give me enough time to see my children grow up and hes given me so much more. If youve lost a loved one to cancer...my sincerest condolences. If you or a loved one are currently suffering the wrath of the Big C...hang tough. If youre a survivor...every day is gravy so dont waste them. I dont...not anymore. Id like to thank the following people who aided in my recovery...Susan Morris who worked 2 jobs and got up early every morning and prepared my daily tube feedings, Dad, Kaye Stotts, Jennifer Robinson, and J.C. White who took turns braving the daily trips (sorry about all the vomiting) to B. North for the radiation treatments. My mom for sitting w/ me day in and day out while Susan was at work. John Willett for mowing my yard. Greg Waugh for taking me squirrel hunting when I could hardly walk. And especially my children for tolerating my chemo meanies. Live long and prosper peeps.
