I just realized that I havent updated my, Im The Meanest Mom In The Whole World! blog for quite a while, so heres my latest installation . . . I cancelled my childs 10th birthday party, which was to be at the Bryson pool. And I cancelled it a mere 3 days before the event. My soon-to-be-10 year old got a bit lippy with me via text one evening last week, prompting me to immediately pick her up at her friends house and relieve her of her phone and ipod. I explained that we would not pay for her to have these items so we could exchange argumentative texts. Once home, whining continued to the point where I had to warn said child that if she didnt stop, bedtime was going to be imminent. Since this is MY child, she didnt stop and so the getting ready for bed process was implemented. Now really upset, my youngest child muttered at me to shut up (a phrase Im still shocked she had the nerve to say to me). Punishment was swift and severe, in the form of one cancelled pool party. I told her that we would not have a big, expensive party for a child who spoke to her parent(s) so disrespectfully - and will not put on here what I told her would happen to her if she EVER spoke to me again like that! Child was sent to bed, immediate phone calls/texts/pms were sent to party guests letting them know there was no party, phone calls to cancel both the cake and the pool reservation were made. Now, if any other parents out there can out-mean me, Ill be happy to hand over my Meanest Mom trophy!
