I just realized that a couple of weeks ago I completed 15 years as a surgical tech at Knapp Medical Center. I have seen a lot in those 15 years. I have seen both ends of life. Ive seen people die and I have seen the start of life when I have assisted in C-sections. C-sections arent my favorite thing to do since I dont do it enough to feel completely comfortable but I cant help but smile when I hear that babys first cry. Were a small crew at Knapp. But believe me, we are damn good at our job. We do it all. From the rooter to the tooter. We have to be good! My patient always comes first! Not everybody can handle my job. We can go from seeing a persons brain to a simple thing like incising a boil all in a days work. Our OR crews are awesome! Im glad to work alongside such great techs! Dont listen to the stupid rumors out there people. If you come to Knapp for surgery you will get the best, most knowledgeable surgical techs, certified first assistants and licensed surgical assistants there are in the Valley. Hopefully God will give me many more years there!
