I just responded to an awesome post by Jenn Kahan, about building online vs offline #My_response: Jenn, heres what I teach my team. High tech, without high touch is pointless. Building online is great for recruiting, but horrible for retention. Let me explain: People come for the money, but stay for the feeling. Its an up hill battle trying to capture that feeling, when hiding behind your computer screen. Research Maslows Hierarchy of Needs. After we satisfy our basic needs, we long for human interaction, a need to belong. Its wired in our DNA. As humans we are pack animals, and there is no escaping it. Unless youre the unabomber. We all have the need to belong, and find it strange when it comes to the contrary. When you master culture Team building Youll be better off in the long run. Development of local team culture breads longevity. Disagree? Thats fine. Ask you master distributors why they been in an average of 3 to 4 deals a year. If theyre building online only, people dont stay Period. The online world is an awesome thing, but will never replace human touch.
