I just returned from Springfield, Illinois where last night I watched my grandson Brinton Wilkey Jr. in a football game. Brinton is quarterback for Springfield High School and had a fine game, throwing some great passes, and doing some fancy footwork carrying the ball. Even though his team lost a heartbreaker to Sacred Heart Griffin, he was wonderful. He (AND his sisters) are also great swimmers; hoping he may get a swim scholarship for a big university here in Texas. My flight to and from Springfield was incredible --- left Texarkana at noon Friday, went to DFW and then Springfield by 5:00 p.m. Left Springfield this morning at 6:00 and got back in to Texarkana via DFW by 11:15 this morning. Added bonus: also got to see Dad Brinton and Mom Susan, Sister Alison, and my daughter Jael and husband Mark, grandson Matt and wife Tracy, and great-grandson Brantley!! Thank you Lord!
