I just returned to Riverbank after driving up 120 through Groveland, and about 20 past until we reached the road closure. I do not remember the name of the road, but right there at the closure I turned right and drove about 20 miles up further. I was able to see the hillsides glowing and some large flames off in the distance. I was able to get some decent pictures for being so far away from the affected area. I spoke with two Tuolumne County Sheriffs in Groveland, and they reported that the fire is so large, and it has been scary for them working so close to the fire. Everyone in that area is still in my thoughts and prayers. On my way down 120 I counted 8 fire engines headed towards Groveland, and from the 120/108 intersection I counted another 21 fire engines between there and Lover’s Leap. Try to remain optimistic, and there is definitely aid headed your way.
