I just saw a news report which alluded to rainfall in Japan, and drought in parts of America as proof of man-made global warming. They showed a map of the world, and also alluded to cold weather in the UK. Really? Lets just find three random places on the map and go look! Each of these completely different weather phenomena is proof of man-made global warming. How unscientific is that? They even started out with some non-sequitur about many scientists agree that and then jumped into the weather phenomena, somehow omitting what in fact the scientists agreed on. This is the main problem I have with the issue. Im not saying global warming isnt real, Im not even saying it isnt man-made. Im just tired of being lied to and of deliberate attempts to mislead. I get it, you want me to stop using fossil fuels. That doesnt excuse lying to me. How on earth can anyone logically and rationally deal with the issue if the basis for taking action is propaganda? Jumping from one hysterical prediction to the next gets old. Katrina was supposed to be the start of even larger and more menacing hurricanes (despite mountains of evidence that Katrina was the result of cyclical patterns). I argued against that silly notion as soon as I got my power back after Katrina! It was ludicrous, and sure enough hurricanes didnt get worse and worse each year around here, they went back into a lull. Wait, was that because the temperatures stopped going up to? In defiance of every single global warming prediction? What about the dire warnings of ocean levels rising? How many millennia will it take for that to be a concern at the current rate? Sea ice? Wait, its increasing? Does this mean Im a climate change denier or what ever current term theyre using? No, but I try my best to stick to facts and logic. I dont buy into hysteria and propaganda. If someone wants to be taken seriously, its a good start for them to try to be right about some things first.
