I just sent the Governor en email about his appointment of Teach For America scab Rebecca Fishman-Lipsey who he appointed to the FLBOE with only two years of classroom teaching experience. I invite you to do the same! Governor, Your appointment of Rebecca Fishman-Lipsey to the Florida Board of Education is another slap in the face to lifelong educators in the state of Florida. I am highly insulted that you would choose to appoint someone with only two years of classroom experience and not a lifelong educator. You stated that she has had an exceptional career, really? She spent only two yearsin the classroom as a TFA teacher in New York, and then two more as a TFA coordinator, and then moved to Miami where she spent 4 years as the TFA coordinator? That’s just eight years and it hardly seems all that exceptional to me. She quit TFA to start her own consulting company. Two years in the classroom does not make one exceptional, and it hardly demonstrates the commitment to becoming a lifelong educator! This was a terrible pick from the beginning and there is no other way to look at!
