I just shared a photo about Never stop believing in HOPE and dedicated it to my mom. This woman has been the wringer, thru HELL and back, yet she is still fighting, still wanting, still trying to get back what she had before her heart surgery on August 14 . Medication problems, depression, those with their own opinions telling her this is what you should be doing by now,,,, even insurance cancelling her care because she is not making the standard progress of other patients. What everyone else has not seen is her will , her hurt, her confusion, her fight to try and understand, those who are suppose to be educated in the care and recovery process,,,, just write it off. BUT FINALLY!!!!!! someone has recognized her struggle,,, went up against the insurance and appealed for her, and when I went to she mom today,,,, although she is in the hospital where she doesnt want to be,,,, she has made improvements. Mom had a look of knowing, of gratefulness, of finally someone has seen what she cannot express for herself,,,HOPE!! Mom says,,,, I hope so. when asked questions if this or that is helping , if she thinks she can, etc, and she very mildly and timidly will say ,,, I hope so. She started crying today while talking to me, because she wanted to say I hope so. she corrected herself and said I am not suppose to say hope so. , now crying harder. I said, Mom ? why not? she told me all this, and I quickly answered her and said, Hope is in the bible mom, it is what we need to carry on, to get through, quoted her Hebrews 11:1 Hope is the substance of things not yet seen. This calmed her and she looked into my eyes and said, thank you ,,,,, keep that hope mom, cause this is what keeps you going, Seeing and talking with mom today , I see and hear the improvements we have been waiting for. She is biting at the bit to get started with PT, asks if she can get out of bed, refused the hoyer lift now, cause she wants to be helped and shown and worked with , to get out of bed. This woman has remained strong through everything she has been thru, even when we couldnt see it, or thought it wasnt there. She is determined!! She is tired. She is desperate, but finally ,,, help has arrived!!! SO MOM!!! KEEP THAT HOPE!!! love her to the moon and back
