I just spoke with a case manager at the hospital where Tara is. - TopicsExpress

I just spoke with a case manager at the hospital where Tara is. She tells me that they are trying to figure out where to send her. Shes already gone thru her days that Medicaid will pay. And not too many long term nursing facilities will take someone that is on a ventilator. And then there is the problem with insurance, since she has none except for Medicaid the choices are limited as well. They are trying to keep her close to Panama City because of the kids. I asked about trying to bring her home, and was told that it would more then likely be hard to find someone in PA to take her because shes on Florida Medicaid. And then there is the cost of transporting her that far by ambulance, Medicaid will not pay for that. On another note, when I talked to her nurse today, she told me that Tara kept asking to talk to her mom....and that she was very unsettled today. They had just given her something to relax her when I called. I have talked to several people down there about Taras situation. I would think that there could be something in her file that states that both her parents are gone. She has so many different nurses that something like that should be in her medical file that they see on a daily basis. A nurse would know more on how to respond to Tara asking to talk to her mom. The case manager is going to try and get one of the Doctors to call me, so I can get more of an understanding on how they think Tara is coming along. Whether she is making progress like they hope, or if she isnt coming along as fast as they would like. I keep hearing its going to be a very very long recovery, that is if she does recover from this. Please keep sending prayers her way. She certainly needs them...
