I just stepped outside to get a breath of fresh air for the first - TopicsExpress

I just stepped outside to get a breath of fresh air for the first time in days. Over the past 24 hours the walls of Lilys ICU room were closing in on me, and I could literally feel the father of all lies ripping the hope right out of my chest. Lily has been miserable for the past 24 hours. Between her need to be bagged several times for low oxygen saturations and high CO2s, and the profuse vomiting which has turned into dry heaving every five minutes, our girl is done! Lily is on Zofran and Phenegran around the clock, but still no relief. She has tears that gently roll down her cheeks, and a constant look of nausea disgust on her face. The bi-pap machine has been able to keep her stable, which I am very thankful for. We also learned that the preliminary results of her biopsy show a Grade 1 rejection, which is an improvement from her last heart cath. So Lilys hero heart is still strong. We are waiting to hear if there are antibody rejection issues that need to be treated. The question now becomes what is going on? Several team members believe that Lily is struggling with only one pulmonary artery since her heart is used to having two. Either her heart needs to settle or perhaps she needs them to attempt to reattach the donors right pulmonary artery to her right lung. This would be an extremely complex, never been done before procedure that would involve the cardiac surgery, cardiac cath, and MRI teams to all work together simultaneously. Lily is not far out enough from transplant yet for them to really consider this option. After having a long ugly cry, I feel led to pray for a miracle. The Great Physician, who breathed Lily into existence knows how to heal her and settle her hero heart. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need Hebrews 4:16. Father God, we are in desperate need. He is able. And today I am thankful for miracles that can only come from Him. Please Lord, let it be so. Eucharisteo
