I just want to raise positivity on this page... (my story - please dont think Im blowing my own trumpet)... I was diagnosed with Chiari February 2013 along with Multiple Sclerosis. It was a shock especially as we had a 3 year old and 1 year old my and my (now) husband and I were getting married in the June... Had decompression surgery in London by a skull base specialist August 2013 and was out of hospital in 8 days. Although I was admitted back to hospital with aseptic meningitis 3 weeks later... I quickly got over it... Recovery went well and I decided to enter for the London Marathon and got accepted (after getting the ok from my surgeon). Training started in December 2013 and by March 2014 I was running 15 -18 miles at the weekend and 6-8 miles 2 to 3 times per week. I completed the London Marathon exactly 9 months after my decompression surgery in 6hrs 35mins 29secs. Im now still running and have started weight training (again after getting the ok from my surgeon). I have more energy and my symptoms are almost non-exsistent. Stay positive... xxx
