I just want to say that I really like this song and music video but I was reading through the comments and crossed this one notice the little girl they had being negative and playing Ricky at the beginning was a dark-skinned girl with nappy hair. Then the little girl who was supporting him, saying youll get that car some day ricky was caramel with good/curly hair. Rappers/media/music are determined to make dark girls seem nasty and undesirable, right down to the children. Marketing is a very powerful tool but do you agree that this was intentional? I like to think that my preferences of women are a direct result of my environment, with that being said everything has a target demographic and rap videos are no different. Every decision is calculated and tailored to get the optimal effect, including casting and positioning of actors so subliminal advertising may have a place here.
