I just want to state a few things... I am not a bad Christian/person/example/ fill in the blank based on the image engraved on my back. I did not get my tattoo to be rebellious/a hipster Christian/popular/ fill in the blank. My tattoo is first and for most a form of praise offering to what The Lord has done in my life in regards to His faithfulness in bringing restoration, comfort, healing, grace, wisdom, and joy into my life through sickness, divorce, death, and the numerous little struggles I faced daily the past 19 years. It is not only meant to be a praise offering but a reminder to my soul when it is afraid of the current circumstances that occur to put my faith in Jesus and press on- not draw back and loose focus on the One who has brought me out of darkness time and time again. I take what is engraved on my back seriously because it is the word of God. Therefore, I am daily convicted to life a life of faith rather than fear because I want to honor the God breathed words that make up Hebrews 10:39. If you have looked down not just on me but others who have tattoos- regardless of their meaning or even if there is not one- I challenge you - especially Christians- to remember you do not and will never possess the authority to judge someones identity/worth/abilities/soul based on the image that is engraved on the outside.
