I just wanted to share something. Some of you may remember, a few years ago, how heartbroken I was to leave Venice and move to Pasadena. I absolutely hated the idea. I cried constantly, but did it anyways, as I knew deep in my bones, it was something I needed to do for many reasons. Turns out, because I now lived near my friend Sara, we went to the dtla artwalk, spontaneously. It was there I met Dave, whom I later shared a studio with, in this very building. 6 months after that, the walls of the mezzanine galleries inside The Last Bookstore were built, and I opened my long-time dream of a shoppe. 6 months after that, I moved back to Venice, to my same building even, where I still live. I hate the phrase, everything happens for a reason because it just ticks me off. But it is undeniable that sometimes, if we listen to our instincts and go against what is easy and comfortable, we may just find ourselves smack dab in the middle of a waking dream-come-true, which life was trying to move us towards in the first place. It requires acceptance, trust and faith to make these big changes, but ultimately, I believe that faith is rewarded, so long as we keep moving; recognizing and stepping on the path as it appears. I hate not knowing where Im headed as much as anyone, but suddenly I realize that my strong inner directives are meant to be embraced and trusted, and that they always lead to grander adventures. This is as true for me as it is for you. So take that step. xo
