I just wanted to take a moment and try to clarify something. - TopicsExpress

I just wanted to take a moment and try to clarify something. We just had a member apologize for their grasp of the English language. _Nobody_ should ever feel the need to apologize for such a thing. Not only would it be presumptuous of someone to expect that everyone was a native English speaker, it would also be downright silly. English is not the predominant language on the planet and based on the membership of this group it is quite apparent that it is not the predominant language here, either. We encourage English here as, for lack of a better phrase, a common denominator among all the people using this group; we dont do it because we think English is a better language. I worked in an English as a Second Language lab for many years and I realize how confusing the language is :) I personally realize that many of our members struggle with the language and do their best to communicate using English and I highly commend them for doing so. I know a bare minimum of Spanish and I can not envision the difficulty I would have trying to communicate technical issues in a Spanish forum; I am quite sure I would grow frustrated trying. If youre not a native English speaker just do the best you can. Use google translate or similar tools on the web if you feel it would be easier for you. If we have questions about your post / issue we will ask you to clarify if necessary. But please... dont ever apologize for not being a fluent English speaker.
