I kind of, sort of, hate my job this year. Im ALWAYS the bearer of bad news, Mrs. Doom & Gloom. It sucks to be an importer/exporter this year. Lousy weather last winter, rail car shortages, federal regulations creating trucker shortages, chassis shortages, labor negotiations, port congestion at every port in the country, more weather, cost increases to address the shortages and increase the supply, transit delays because of all the congestion....it just never ends. And if that wasnt enough, the Port of Los Angeles caught on fire yesterday. Caught on Fire, and now the biggest port in the country is shut down for an entire day. FML can just one thing that doesnt suck happen in the world of trade? Just one. Thats all I want.
