I knew I was making the right decision personally when I left the news business full time a few years ago. This week has proven it. I used to aspire to be a top notch news reporter in major market, even wanting to go national. I have good friends that did. Im not calling out individuals but the press in its entirety. Is the mainstream press listening to itself right now as it pertains to Ebola? The sheer amount of hysteria reporting I have seen is downright irresponsible. More and more I realize that the news industry ( an industry I love) has become nothing but a shell of its former self. Ebola is very serious but just a little research from official sources prove that there is no outbreak. The sensationalism around this story is greater than I have seen in a long time. Never mind the fact that when it comes to politics you have to watch two or three networks and then gauge what you take from each of their stories. End the propaganda, be the responsible fourth estate and inform the public correctly. I miss the industry at times. But I miss what it was and not what it is. #irresponsible
