I knew this Print called The Garden House, 1986, by Darlina Darton, was worth more than $10... Living in a small town with not the flow of larger towns would get, I only put $10 on it in the Thrift Store. Weve had it for months! Some would say, Put it on EBAY. Seriously, if you knew my schedule and my duties and the fact that His Ministries is operated by volunteers, youd not make that statement. It takes time to sell on EBAY. Just as it took time to sell this print in the store, just for $10 in a small town. I put it on the thrift store sight and asked if anyone knew anything about this Print. No response. I was hoping someone would look it up and start the conversation. I also felt that it would sell if someone saw it. Now, I had looked up this artist months ago and saw some of this artists prints sell for $3,000. So.. are you curious about this PRINT now? It sold today. A man walks in the store and says, Is that picture $10? Ella says yes. He says, A friend from North Carolina, sent me up here to buy it. She saw it on Facebook and said she paid $1,800 at one time for this artists print. Evidently, she was a collector. ...Now, Ive seen this print selling at $80 - $475. Theres two morals to this story. 1). Its amazing what you may find in a thrift store. I tell everyone to at least check out our thrift store once a week, if they live close. You never know what you may find in a thrift store. 2). Facebook is amazing for selling stuff that wont move in a small town. 3). We do accept all donations. ~And at the moment, we need pictures, prints and wall decorations to fill a few empty spots.
