I know I have posted this in other groups and memorial tributes to Mr. Pool. This is not the original brick, but it was cast out of the same lot and creatively acquired from the same place. I believe Logan Hawkes had placed the original on the piano in the choir room within 12 hours of acquisition. I was fortunate to be one of the Brickmen, and it took all of us. I joined Mens Choir in my sophomore year (83-84), after singing the first semester in my freshman year for TJ, getting frustrated with what seemed like only singing barbershop. I gave Mr. Pool a shot, and I suppose he gave me the same. He allowed me to sing with the mens choir even when I wasnt officially or currently signed up for his class. He allowed me to drift in and out as I needed to so I could pursue whatever classes I felt I needed (or in some cases were required). There was no judgement from him. I remember being so frustrated with Drunken Sailor because he wanted us to shout up, and for some reason I couldnt get it. There was no hiding from Pool in his domain, and in a fit of frustration I turned around and smacked my head into the brick wall... Yeah. It smarted and was not so smart. Pool calmed me down and I eventually got the part... For whatever reason I kept the brother to the original brick. It has been packed away, moved, and I always seem to find it at a good moment or when I really needed to find it. A reminder of the kindness, love, and support from Mr. Pool and the Brickmen. Thank you. Much gratitude and love-
