I know I havent been blowing up my feed with pics and updates from Paris, because I am a human man who has been on vacation before and I only need your love and validation when I am in the US. However, three things: 1) I slept for almost 12 hours last night. I slept for 10 the night before. I feel like a different person. 2) My wife canceled reservations at one of the hottest bars in the world last night after we stumbled into a Scottish bar filled with Arsenal fans so we could watch the match there. And it could not have turned out worse. Many thanks to my darling wife who did end up having a good time sitting in this dive bar in a cocktail dress where me and a bunch of Frenchman and UK ex-pats drank heavy beers and complained about Arsene Wenger. (We are going to the hot bar on Monday night and we did manage to do some fancy stuff after the match.) 3) I am the fattest dude in Paris by about 95 pounds. While I do have severe body image issues, I am not sad about this, because its so remarkable - everyone here is incredibly fit and trim (not to mention well-dressed and possessing great hair). Its only a matter of time before children and drunks start throwing nickels (their French equivalent, I mean) at my feet and ordering me to dance. So while I dont want to leave just yet, I will be happy to get back to South Philly, where I am just a tier below Denzel Washington (and rightly so).
