I know I used to be a moron who thought racism wasnt a thing but Im still confused by people who think racism isnt a thing. His story is both wrenching and common. There is a moment where he describes being pulled over by police, multiple cars, and he almost says he wasnt sure he was going to make it it alive, but says something else instead because clearly those words are too real and too close and how much longer can we let stuff like this happen? NY mayor condemns police brutality and the police respond by boycotting him and turning funerals into protests of him? For condemning the very thing they are sworn to protect against? My heart, you all. My heart. And I have the privilege of not really feeling it because racism is not problematic for me. I am white. This country celebrates me by pushing others down. Like he says-- all lives matter? Couldve fooled me.
