I know I usually try to do a write up of the match but that might prove somewhat difficult this week. Large parts of yesterday seem to have disappeared from my memory. Ill put down what I can remember... Saturdays opponents were meant to be aldershit and fleet, but with an organisational ability comparable only to that of Aurie Woodley they pulled out the night before. Arseholes. However thanks to Rob Doble and his contacts it was arranged that some tadley 2s and 3s players made their way over having had their games called off. To start with we lent them Dink Wickens , Neil Dinmore and David Sheddo Amor to make up the numbers, however by the end of the game Ian Taylor, Keith, Sturat and possibly some others had also swapped sides at some point. I cant really remember the final score (40 something to 20 something) but we saw the best refereeing display at the fieldgate weve ever seen; thank you Berty for stepping up. I cant remember all the try scorers. Alex Hiscock got at least one, Gareth Reed pinched one off Liam Noonan who I think also got one. The most memorable try belonged to Benjamin Keatley who scored his first try for the club and celebrated like a hormonally challenged teenage girl. Dink and Dinmore both got tries for the tadley side. Dinks was courtesy of a genuinely horrific interception from a Luke Keatley pass that was signalled so clearly that Im certain gatwick airport have given it its own call sign. Other memorable moments from the game: Ian Taylor nearly ripping off Hamish Glynn Dipwcfs tiny spam javelin. Even the hardened medic Tyla Smilez Bowyer refused to deal with his mangled chipolatta so gave him steri-strips which proved to be too big. Luke got sent absolutely flying by the tadley 8. Permission to land captain? Bens face when he was removed from the field for persistent handling on the floor - first player Ive seen sin binned with a pound coin! Overall it was a good match followed by a great evening which needs little mentioning. Facebook seems to be covered in pictures of ben in his dick of the day jacket and Christmas stockings so I dont need to mention that. Well done guys, turn up to training on Wednesday and lets get ready for January! If anyone would like to fill in the gaps in my memory you are more than welcome.
