I know a fair amount of people who didnt live the perfect dream with the perfect baby...that ended up with a surrogate or fostering or adopting. And not ONE of them regrets it and doesnt love that kid with every ounce of their hearts. Because fundamentally a family is that...its the close bond formed by being a unit and sharing lifes rich tapestry together. And it doesnt really matter how the child was created...thats just mechanics...its about the journey you all go on together...the experience you share and the beauty and utter uniqueness that being a family is...not one of those people has ever said or expressed that they wish there lives were different. And probably all of them thought that as they were trying. But the moment the child/children arrived everything fell away as the love took over and the new life began. So to all those out there who may be struggling...stay the course and follow all the paths to make a family happen. I promise you wont regret it. And you will make your partner very happy as she/he has you. And you will have given and there is nothing greater than that in life. Look at all the great humans...almost all of them gave as their biggest achievement...Gandhi, the dalai lhama, mother Theresa, the list is endless...and all the bad human beings...they took and destroyed...think of that in this time. Giving is huge. It makes us the best we can be..
