I know a few of you have seen a couple pictures of this before, but I was bored and decided to take it out and clean and oil it since I havent since I acquired it, and I figured some of you guys might enjoy some detailed photographs of the markings and features. Now for the back story. I acquired this 1911 back in April of this year when my uncle Dave passed away. It belonged to his grandfather who acquired it, supposedly, as an army officer. It was handed down to his father, then to him, and when he passed away he wanted me to have it. It was in a state of disrepair, but luckily a wolff spring kit fixed all of that. It was manufactured by Colt in 1918 according to the serial number, and as far as I can tell by reading the collectors books, all the parts are correct, with possible exception of the hammer, which looks like a North American hammer, and I highly doubt that is the case. Well, thanks for reading through my long windedness, and I hope you all enjoy the photographs.
