I know a lot of times at Active Self Protection we advocate - TopicsExpress

I know a lot of times at Active Self Protection we advocate defending yourself and your loved ones and otherwise minding your own business. Thats always relative, as this video shows. Audio lessons, and more lessons below. Original with details: goo.gl/ZfgoxC Lessons: 1. Parking lots and other transitional areas are places that are more prone to attacks like a robbery. People tend to be busy, pre-occupied, and either have merchandise or money on them in these locations which makes them more likely for attackers to use. Be especially prepared in these locations. 2. Awareness was critical here. The victim got loud and got the attention of passers-by, and that brought help her way. If something is going wrong in your vicinity, GET LOUD!! Loud can bring help. And if you hear someone getting loud, investigate. 3. Chasing the suspect down was a judgment call, and one that had to be made in a split second. Once the lady was safe, it may have been a perfectly acceptable decision to let the perp flee, be a good witness, and care for the victim. Make those decisions now, though, because in the moment hesitation may be the difference between victory and defeat. 4. Once one person acted, it broke the Bystander Effect and others stepped in as well. Be that first person that gets the ball rolling!
