I know there are a lot of female runners out there who had similar issues that my friend Davida has been experiencing. Can someone help her out with this? Need you (and your running buddies) help! I started doing a 5K every night about two weeks ago. I have brand new shoes, shoe inserts etc. The first week was rough breathing wise but I managed. Second week I started to be able to run further, but suddenly after the first mile, my shins would cramp up. This is not a shin splint. It is a cramp in the front of my legs that hits any time I try to job. If I walk it is very tight but jogging hurts bad. The left glut is tight all the time and the tightness travels down my whole leg when I jog. I am hydrating, eating right and streaching. Personally I think its because I am a 230 lb woman slamming down on my poor legs and it will last until I start shedding poundage. Has anyone ever experienced cramps like this.. I am sitting at my desk and my left left quad, left glute and lower back are killing me...and thats after doing 45 minutes of gentle streatching at lunch. I have the Warrior Dash I must get ready for in October and of course I didnt start training for it until I had 90 days left. Help me obi-wandorphin dude - your my only hope (unless of course I go to the doctor or something).
