I know this is lengthy. But, I have to share what a student took the time to email me. When someone takes the time to let you know how much they appreciate you, treasure it! Thank you, student who I will leave unnamed. I am humbled by your words!! Xo 😘 Renee dear, I want to compliment you on your growth as an instructor / educator. Over the 2 years that I have been your Zumba student, I have watched how you have become better and better at your craft and passion! When I first stepped onto the floor at Johnny and June’s, I shared that I didn’t know the music much less the various routines. Shortly after you began more teaching components and offerings. As time has gone by, you’ve added more and more helpful guides to the up and coming steps by adding hand movements as directionals, gesters to remind students of the proper positions, encouragement to speak up and become more vocal thus elevating the vibrations and helpful release of stress buildup adding elevating endorphins and other natural body repairs, encouraged more rigorous movements which really do make a difference in muscle development (isometrics builds muscle and tone), suggested that dancers smile while working out (also improves facial muscles as well as aids in more youthful appearance), encouraged meeting and greeting fellow dancers making new friendships. and the list continues. Now you’ve added the clap signaling a change in position when a student may be facing downward and not able to see you. GREAT IDEA!!! As you know, I have visited and cheered on other Zumba instructors, participating in their classes and civic minded events. They are wonderful energetic instructors and, as I have shared with you, they are perfect for their particular audiences/participants. When I take a look around the Johnny and June’s dance floors, I see happier participants with higher energy vibrations and more toning up and weight loss. When I speak with the class members, I hear them repeat how blessed they are to have you as an instructor that when in your class, they know they’ve worked out because they drip! And they all say it with a smile and pride at their accomplishments. Those special attributes you bring include a dance background with understanding of rhythms and beats along with movement. Your warmup and cool downs are specific to understanding the body’s need to stretch and release. And then it’s your caring attitude and passion which radiates on stage and off, in the spotlight and in the dark of the room. You, dear Renee, bring out the best of the best and you truly are worthy of making my day brighter with your broad smile, your humour at laughing at yourself creating “dance humour” at being normally human, your compassionate heart of wanting to be an example for goodness and integrity, your open sharing of personal challenges and successes, striving for excellence, and the list continues. Thank you for being you and for all you do! And thank you for being the Zumba instructor who leads me to my personal successes. As my friends, acquaintances and organizations know, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 7, 7, 6. I’m available after 8, 8, 7 after my ZUMBA with Renee! Thank you for being my blessing and encouragement to do my best and better!
