I know this will offend a few, but so be it and will not apologize. The latest farm bill is a travesty to our country. This farm bill further solidifies that farmers are on welfare. Yes that is right. Do I believe that farming is important and vital to national security? ABSOLUTELY!! However continuing down this path in which we have Nationalized Farming in the United States is far from adding to our national security. All this bill will do will further weaken our Agriculture Sector. It will continue to artificially escalate land values, which will continue to increase the likelihood of younger generations being able to acquire land; yes folks the average age of the farmer is over 65 thanks partially to government farm bills and estate taxes. Furthermore this will increase farmers reliance or dependence upon welfare; (farm bill). We had a chance to make a correction to help strengthen our agriculture sector by passing a farm bill that made long term corrections. This bill did no such thing. Im ashamed of any congressman or senator that passed this bill. Our agriculture sector is in big trouble.
