I know we all have thoughts about the future at times and all face uncertainty. In the last year and a half-Ive lost 7 people who were friends and family members to cancer, car/motorcycle wrecks, old age, suicide, heart attacks and substance abuse and as much as I hate it-its changed me some. I passed an old lady today at a place I stopped in for breakfast. She had a breathing tube and looked like an oxygen tank with it sitting on the floor beside her and someone was sitting across from her (which looked like her son or a caregiver)....and he was helping feed her and it completely broke my heart. Not that this is the first time Ive ever seen this-Ive seen this 100 times...I dont know what it is lately about life-but I guess I am realizing how fragile and short life really is and how selfish we all act sometimes, including myself-really including myself (ha). I heard a quote a few years ago that said What doesnt kill you- doesnt always make you stronger-it makes you hurt, struggle and forces you to try and navigate a world that has severely damaged you. I guess the overwhelming feeling I get these days is that life is indeed short. Im far from perfect. We are all far from perfect. We all battle things and all handle things differently. I hope we can all finally wipe any guilt from our lives and move forward to a better place mentally and emotionally....hope you all have a beautiful Tuesday. And I hope we can all one day enjoy our own lives as much as some of the people around us-enjoy us :) +
