I know we are coming off Christmas but I hope you will consider - TopicsExpress

I know we are coming off Christmas but I hope you will consider helping out an organization that is truly struggling right now. When Miss Wilma could not safely stay in her foster home, needed training, and I had no place to put her, Wag Time II: The Rescues took her in. Without them, I had no options. Since then I have gotten to know the owner and the employees there and I can personally vouch that they are all wonderfully dedicated people who love dogs and work harder than I can imagine taking care of them and giving them the best care possible. When I rescued Miss Wilma, I never dreamed of simply dumping the responsibility of her on someone else. I rescued her and it was up to me to follow through. Unfortunately, others who have left dogs at Wag Time have not followed through and there are several dogs that have been abandoned there...in some cases for a year or more. Its a double whammy, not only are the owners paying to care for these dogs, these dogs are living a life in boarding, and there is less space to accommodate other dogs that could be rescued by responsible groups. I ask that you check out the video on the fundraiser link that explains the situation, and consider donating - either monetarily, or supplies for the dogs. youcaring/other/abandoned-dogs-left-in-boarding/280213 Also, if you would like to meet any of the abandoned dogs as a potential foster or an adopter, please PM the page and I will get you in touch with the owner. Below is a personal statement from the owner at Wag Time, who explains the situation far better than I could. Please SHARE her story, so it can get the exposure it needs to help these dogs out and find them the forever homes they deserve. Thank You, Deborah --------------------------------------------- Hi Friends! As many of you know, and many more do not, Wag Time Rescue has undergone a financial hardship from neglectful rescuers that have abandoned their dogs here. We have tried everything to get these rescuers to take responsibility for their dogs, both financially for food and boarding, to simply visiting them. But they have refused. These dogs are some of the sweetest dogs you will meet and are now compelled to live a life in boarding. Well we cant sit back and allow these dogs to fall through the cracks. So to that end, we have created a little video to help us share with the world, their plight, and to help us raise funds to keep caring for these abandoned dogs while we find them a home to call their own. If you are interested in any of these dogs to adopt, please contact us immediately. In addition, if you are unable to donate monetarily, we are also accepting donations of items we are in desperate need of. The following is a list of items we really need to continue to provide the best care for these dogs, as well as the other dogs that find their way to our place. All dogs at Wag Time are rescued dogs. Some have been saved from life on the streets while others have been saved from death at a shelter. Help us provide the best care for them. They deserve so much and we want to give them the best fresh start to life, as we can. Wishlist - Outdoor heaters (restaurant grade) - we need approx. 3-4 to truly create a warm environment outside where the dogs spend their days. (night time they go inside where it is heated or air conditioned depending on the weather) Raised beds - we need lots of these for both outside use as well as indoor. Chain link fencing - to help us seal off some of our runs for dogs that like to jump out, as well as to create bigger play runs in our yard. Organic supplements: Coconut Oil - this will strengthen the dogs immunity while providing other health benefits Diatomaceous Earth (FOOD GRADE ONLY) - a natural dewormer, helps to absorb minerals and is a natural detoxifier Blankets Cleaning supplies Items for the dogs: Toys Clothing Collars Treats Crates/igloos
