I left the vet so unsettled today and when I called around 4pm to check on Rudy, they said he was more down and had declined even more than when we had visited earlier in the day. I was extremely concerned that something might happen overnight and considered bringing Rudy to our 24 hour emergency vet. But that didnt solve the issue that I feel in my heart that Rudy needs some major one on one TLC and spoiling. Enter our amazing SNARR foster family who always helps time and time again with some of our most special cases...and they happen to be a husband and wife team of vets, with two amazing future rescuers as their assistants :-) It just happens to be the same amazing family who fostered our very own Andra Grace; so you know Rudy is in wonderful hands. I went back down to Queens to pick up Rudy and His foster mommy Marcy drove 2 hours from CT to meet me and pick up her new patient. Rudy will now have the best of both worlds...round the clock, top notch care and in a loving home environment. Im praying and hoping this boy pulls through as he has stolen my heart. I want nothing more than to see him improve and go on to live a wonderful life, but he has a tough road ahead and we are not sure yet what we are battling. So I am just beyond thrilled that he will be getting loved and spoiled while we figure it out! Rudy has had bloodwork and xrays with nothing conclusive. His foster parents will decide what else needs to be done to try and diagnose our sweet boy. One answer to the puzzle is that Marcy and Art discovered tonight that Rudys belly was full of urine, which means a tear in his bladder which might need to be surgically repaired. They have put in a catheter and he is now comfortable and ate a good dinner and peed and pooped. Hopefully this was what was making him feel so down, but we will try to fit all the pieces together to get this baby on the mend ASAP. Thank you to everyone who is supporting and praying for Rudy.
