I liked the meeting like i like going to church, and I dont do that. it was a chore for me to show up, id rather been catching the last bit of light and throwing. a few quotes from the turf manager great lakes dgc wanting to get out of it when explaining the reason they are taking over, thats fair enough but they really are not getting out of it. just the funding part. all signs, new kiosk, pencils and scorecards, just little things when explaining the improvements of the first year. before this meeting i was gonna pay no matter what, after this meeting im not gonna buy a pass for awhile, or even the first year. they said they will police the course hard for the first two months of p2p to try and inform dgers and curb the walk ons, well i never had anyone come up to me on any golf course or disc golf course and I prefer it that way, so ill let the dogs bark at the uninformed puppies to start. unless it drops to free, or less than 20-25!!! i like the ideas of whats gonna happen, great future plans but realistic with a budget that clearly states discretionary use of revenue generated. in theory i can play free courses for the first two years of p2p or dedicate time to finding a municipality that will put in a free course. come back and pay for pass when everything is improved or a new course is born! obviously i can still change my mind but the meeting was informative and made my current feelings more distinguished. Id say 80% of the meeting was GLDGC people or dgers that play tourneys and leagues, so the turf manager and county rep and aylssa really didnt hear what the general rec disc golfer wants, or see how many more want something smaller to start. But it was a good meeting, thats my feelings on it.....Im still working hard in the next day or two to collect my opposition and turn into the officials who TRULY HAVE THE FINAL SAY!!! *dont start calling names or droppin f bombs on this post
