I live in the land of 24 hour sunlight...Yellowknife, NWT. ( CANADA) This morning, at 7 a.m. the sky is thick with grey smoke...we have to shut our windows to keep it out but the heat in. They have described the situation as apocalyptic...the north is burning up. We cannot put the fires out and we cannot leave because they are closing all the highways. This is stephen harpers Canada. The next time he pushes resource extraction, the next time he goes to Inuvik to push for a new terminal that the tankers can go through..., this is what Canadians need to remember. A few years from now, there will be no NWT, no more land, no more wildlife, nothing.
