I look at all these old barns and have to think of my Uncle Egg - TopicsExpress

I look at all these old barns and have to think of my Uncle Egg and Aunt Sarahs farm in Culpeper. It was a thriving farm back in the day. The barns, silos and chickens. The horses and dairy cows. Nothing was more exciting than seeing that big truck coming to get the milk. Going to collect the eggs with Aunt Sarah. She cooked, sewed and tended to the calves. She was a wonderful lady and hard worker. Uncle Egg would take me in the dairy barn to watch the cows being milked and I had to be still!! He would work til dark. We would sit and watch the horses in the afternoon and that was when my aunt would make us iced coffee, she was so ahead of her time!!!! It is a beautiful home where two great people lived, worked and raised a family. We were always welcomed there and still are. So, when you all look at all these old barns and houses, remember they are all working farms and not just old houses but homes where life was being lived by good honest hardworking families. Love you Uncle Egg!!! He is in his 90s now and still has the best head of hair!!!!
