I lost a good Facebook friend yesterday. Stanley Labauve AKA Pappy was a retired Marine and also retired Texas DOT. He passed at 68 after a long battle with cancer. I never got to meet him in person, but a couple of us in our old AOL chat room knew him personally. Great guy, great sense of humor. IT WAS FUNNY HOW HE WOULD ALWAYS TYPE IN ALL CAPS. NOT BECAUSE IT APPEARED HE WAS YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT WAS EASIER FOR HIM TO READ. He loved his country, especially his home state of Texas. He always wore his U.S. Marine Corps Veteran cap. I guess he felt naked without it. ;) I once saw a video of him in a news report about his American Legion post and how they properly disposed of worn American Flags. Im sure that Sunday at his funeral he will get a proper sendoff. You will be missed, Stan. Semper Fi.
