I love being a mom....I love every messy, gut wrenching, heartbreaking, tear my hair out moment.....I just dont always recognize it in the moment. I was out of town for a few days last week and in a span of 2 hours received a text that Maya had placed first in her cross country meet (first one I have ever missed), and an email that Essie Grace had made a poor choice at school and needed to be disciplined (probably wont be the last). I love that on the drive home Zoe sent me angst ridden texts that can only make sense to a mother of a 13 year old and later that night in the midst of a crazy high school football game, Tiger leaned over and told me he was glad I was home. I must add that he lost a tooth while running on the football field after OWASSO BEAT JENKS....a story that will be retold for many years to come. I love being a mom....it humbles me....everyday. I am currently organizing Tigers birthday party....from last December and I just signed Essies progress report noting the needs to work on speaking out at appropriate times. I mess up often but every once in a while I hit it out of the park, give myself a quick high five and move on to the next seemingly mundane task.....for which I am grateful. One day I will miss packing lunches, I will miss book fairs and teacher meetings. I will miss tying shoes and 20 minutes of reading. I will miss the constant need that makes me pass out every night from exhaustion. One day I might have a clean bathroom and carpet with no stains. Scott and I might travel, eat out and have interrupted conversations but we will miss basketball games, kids menus and constant chaos. I love being a mom....every messy, gut wrenching, heartbreaking, tear my hair out moment. #unfiltered
