I love discussing and debating various topics...as long as I have a decent background knowledge on it, of course. It appears to be a trend, somehow, that my atheism is put into question several times, which is fine, but I just would like to make one thing clear: I have NEVER, and probably will never, claim that God does not exist. It is foolish, for anyone, to claim something that of which they dont know. I dont have the proper evidence to disprove God, so I cant make that bold claim. Thats probably the biggest misconception that people have about atheists is that they all claim that there is no god and its not true. There may be some atheists that claim that, and thats their beliefs, but for the most part, most atheists simply reject the idea of God being real. Atheists simply put into question the validity of the positive claims of religion suggesting otherwise. Theism is a positive claim therefore the burden of proof lies on the believer and their faith, and not on any solid, concrete evidence. Atheists demand evidence and proof that theists can substantiate their claims, and if they could be given that, then there would be a re-evaluation of beliefs. Quite frankly, I am indifferent if God does or does not exist. My life would not change nor my beliefs if the existence of God were to be proven, however, I think the question of existence surrounding God is a metaphysical one that is beyond the scope of our human ability to explore and answer.
