I love how #msnbc has made an entire day dedicated to the Presidents State of the Union as if it had some important meaning. Pundit after pundit came on hyping (my word) the event as the Superbowl of Politics - and Im afraid that if this is the superbowl, Im not going to follow this league. Way too boring. And nothing on the other channels either. Its a nightmare. Everyone has decided to broadcast the Presidents Speech. OMG! And the NSA has conspired to take over our media devices so that we cant turn it off. Its not that it will be a bad speech, its only that it has (based on previous speeches) nothing to do with what will or wont happen. So I suppose it is a question of how many times we (I speak for my optimistic self) can believe that even 10% of this list will come true. Im writing this a few minutes before the speech. If it turns out to be the greatest speech ever, and one that changes anything in the political climate for the better - Ill eat these words.
