I love it when I find a photo and I remember writing about it in a Barnstable Patriot Early file and Im able to put them together for the first time. 1929 Milton L. Baxter, of Hyannis, clerk of First District Court of Barnstable, was killed as the only occupant of the sedan that crashed through the railings of Bourne bridge into the Cape Cod Canal Sunday night. At about 7:25 Sunday night according to Joseph Whitman the draw tender he heard the sound of brakes, a crash, and saw a large dark object heading through the air at a 40-foot drop into the water. No one else has been found that saw the accident although others heard the crash. At the time of the accident there was a heavy mist. Below is a picture of the recovery of the auto on a barge.
