I love my work! Inspecting allows me to use all I have learned from my previous careers, and mentors (over the last 50 years!!). My dad, Leon Cook has been my guiding light for all my life. As a contractor, he expected me to know what he knew (sometimes without actually taking the time to teach me!!). He also was my scoutmaster, and taught me the values I needed to make it to the rank of Eagle Scout, which translated into life skills which help me every day. Other mentors/teachers include Richard & Ed Herrington, who both showed me how to treat customers, as well as educating me in the areas of home construction and materials. I have benefited from those who came before me, and were willing to share their knowledge and experience. As I continue to inspect, and teach future inspectors, I hope I am passing along the gifts I have received.
