I love this argument for making post-secondary education free (something Ive been arguing for for years. People say, sounds great, but whos going to pay for it? The governor (a Republican, of all things) understands that people with post-secondary education EARN more, SPEND more, PAY more in taxes and are less likely to end up in poverty and in need of social assistance. He also understands that the days of graduating high school and working in the local mill for 30-40 years are gone. Kids graduating high school need a chance at post-secondary education (whether its trade school or a BA), if theyre going to have a shot at a career thats not in the fast-food industry.
