I love this page and although I rarely post, it brings me back to a special time in my life. I grew up in rural Oklahoma, in a place where we never knew we were poor, because no one else had anymore than the next. I remember cold mornings setting at the kitchen table with my eyes hardly open, and the smell of bacon biscuits and coffee. I remember oatmeal and fried eggs. I remember my grandmother and then my mother using the same cast iron pans that I use today. Without meaning to offend anyone I must say this..... I never once heard my grandmother or my mother be upset or complain about our use of these pans. Even If it was cooking or cleaning with WATER AND SOAP. She simply took the time to rectify the matter. Do you know why? It wasnt about the pans or how we cared for them it was always about the food and the loved that came from those pans in the form of nourishment. Thats how I care to think of my pans. It is not about how many we owned, how we displayed them or how we cared for them. It was the food and the recipes that are prepared in them.
