I love this song. When I heard it on the radio around age 10 it was the first album I ever bought. I also loved this all-family group, the Cowsills of Santa Monica, California. I was embarrassed that I loved them, but I did. So innocent, so talented. And now I see: So White. The mother played on stage with them. I happened to see them play live in the theater of my high school when their star was falling. Hardly anybody came. But they gave to their all to the performance and I had a crush on the daughter (Susan I think) who was about my age. She shook her tambourine like a pro, the young drummer was amazingly good, and they gave their all to their performance. Their father-manager could be seen schlepping around as the sole roadie, setting up their rather humble P.A. system. The production on this song is fantastic. Unfortunately, they didnt write their songs so they couldnt get rich from the several big hits they had. Had to tour/tour. This video features lip-syncing which was common for videos back then, but I can attest that they pulled off their songs very well live. Cant you admire the young oldest brother with the gap-tooth, lead-singing with that inarguably beautiful voice? We dont see such pure, innocent young men these days. https://youtube/watch?v=BiMCTjO_dHI&list=RDBiMCTjO_dHI#t=0
