I love to see real men cry... I love to see them show their emotions. It makes them real. Today, I had the privilege and the pleasure of attending Mr. Fred McKays going home celebration. It was a great tribute to his Christian life of stewardship! If anyone has ever lived that life... He did! From the sweet eulogy from his brother Mr Johnny R. Kelly, who was actually Miss Joann Jo Ann McKays brother, who also claimed him as his, to the beautiful reading of the 23rd Psalms by Bro Mike Connie Morrison Wehner, to the wonderful tribute by Bro Ozzie Derrah, who has known Mr Fred many, many years! He told precious stories about his friend, and brother in Christ. He told of the prayers with hats off in the truck! You know, prayers are something we can do anywhere! Anytime! One other important point I noticed, not only were his wife and blood children, but also Preston Shipes was mentioned several times. He and Mr Fred had a very special relationship. I know that Preston feels challenged now to be half the man that his mentor and friend was!! Yes, I lost it when he, as a pallbearer walked out from the funeral, with great big crocodile tears rolling down his face! He loved him, and yes, he is a real man!
