I made it home safe from my 1st weekend away in Houston. And it was fantastic!!!!!! I spent the weekend with my sweet best friend Rachel Purinton Fauth and her awesome husband Joel Fauth and got to love on my little boyfriend (their son) Mason. It was so wonderful to get together and act like our old goofball selves. What can I say, Rachel loves me and my shenanigans. :-) I also spent several hours today with another wonderful childhood friend, Stephanie Jetton Brezina, who is doing a fabulous job recovering from a stroke that she had a few months ago. The smile on her face was just beautiful & hearing her voice was magnificent! I am so proud of her and all of her progress.....what a miracle! After spending some girl time together, she fell asleep and I continued to chat with her amazing mother, Vicki Jetton. What an angel! She is doing such an amazing job being an advocate for her daughter. Keep the prayers coming for this beautiful family....the sky is the limit for her recovery.....it just takes time. Being a caregiver is very hard work and you always question yourself because you never know if you are making the right decisions or not. Keith and I are over two years out from his accident/ TBI and I still doubt myself all the time. Heck, the whole week leading up to my weekend away, I doubted myself and wondered if I should just stay home & not go on this trip. A part of me felt this overwhelming guilt for finally scheduling some me time but looking back......this trip has been a huge blessing and I am so glad that I made the choice to go. I missed my family terribly but I also feel completely refreshed and feel like I can conquer the world with all of this new found energy. A huge thanks to my mom, Anna Springer, for staying at my house and take care of my family while I was away. They all had a great time. God Bless and Good Night!
